Baghdad Burning Theme
Throughout Baghdad Burning there is a recurring theme of violence and a fear of violence in which Riverbend expresses. Riverbend gives an insiders perspective and is touched by the many horrible things that go on in her country everyday. These are a few quotes Riverbend uses in Baghdad Burning.
- "Today in Al-sha'ab area, a highly populated area of Baghdad, armed men pulled up to mosque during morning prayer and opened fire on the people. It was horrific and chilling." pg. 49
- "Things are getting more and more frightening." pg. 85
